Teaching on the Sabbath

n this deep-dive Bible study, we explore the biblical timeline, context, and true definition of the Sabbath. Many believers struggle to navigate the transition between the Old Covenant laws given at Mount Sinai and the freedom we experience under the grace of Jesus Christ.

By tracing the origin of Shabbat from Creation through the Mosaic Law, we look at why Jesus chose to perform so many of His miracles specifically on the seventh day—challenging the hard-hearted legalism of the religious leaders. We also clarify the historical and biblical differences between the Jewish Saturday Sabbath and the early church's tradition of gathering on Sunday, the first day of the week, to celebrate the Resurrection.

Ultimately, this study highlights how the New Covenant beautifully shifts our focus away from legalistically tracking a specific calendar day, pointing us instead toward a Person: Jesus Christ, our ultimate Sabbath rest.
